Abandoned Country Club

A buddy of mine lives near an abandoned country club. There isn't anything keeping people out...so we went in.

  1. Kinda spooky in some of those shots . . . great selection.

  2. Poor Heatherwood...I can't believe how much equipment was left. You'd think they could get something for that stuff before it sat and became worthless. Was that a welder in one of the pics?

  3. Whiteline- I love old abandoned stuff...and for some reason underground pedestrian tunnels. There are four I know of nearby, three of which are still accessible.

Ian- I was expecting empty buildings. Other than vandalism and spray paint, it was like they just up and left one day. The shot of the clubhouse bar really gets me. Looks like a waitress was sorting condiments when the call came in: "Hey, we are out of money so just drop what you are doing and lock the doors."
And yeah, that is a welder. That model alone sells for $500-700 used, not to mention the drill press and bench grinder in the same photo. And the tractors and carts...they might make some green if they have a sale or auction but its all going to be junk if it sits too much longer.

  4. That would make a killer motorcycle campground, you should buy it!

  5. Remember the old shades valley HS?

  6. Wes-Somehow I doubt that would go over very well with the high-society types that would have bought a home that came with a free country club membership...

Brandon-yes, I do. Looked like something out of a disaster movie. Much more vandalism than this. Quinlan Castle is another good one to check out if you've never been there.

  7. That's where we have mini bike races and mess around with flat track techniques! Oh and that welder is about to be gone

  9. Matthew-I can only imagine all the dumb shit I could get into with a bike out there. And re: the welder, the doors are wide open. I wonder if that is for a reason.

Chris-thanks man. It was creepy at times, halfway expecting zombies to jump out at any point...
