Spyderco Civilian. This is the old style aluminum version, NOT the G10. Note wear on the pocket clip, have a new style clip on the way that I will include. This model is no longer available, also have the original case and paperwork, has been in the safe and not carried for years.
Spyderco Remote Release II. Another discontinued model, in great shape. There is a small area with a ding on the blade, nothing major. Has been in the safe as well, no box or paperwork with this one.
Lusting after a new blade so these have to go. If you are interested in one or both, contact me through the free sticker link and we can discuss pricing. I will ship anywhere in the US and I take Paypal.

So.Much.Want.
So I've read two really great reviews about this bike in as many weeks. Both commented that it may very well be the best do it all bike on the market: capable dual-sport, equip-able for touring and plenty of power for use as a track day weapon. The downside? At $15k+ it will easily stay in the just another dream category until there is a decent used market. When that happens my Sportster is either going to have to get it together or someone else may be sleeping in its spot in the garage. Either that or I will win the lottery and then we'll all get 1190s on me.

Why I Want a Dual Sport
After seeing this footage of my buddy Jrou111's recent trip, I really should say need instead of want. Seriously, this clip is awesome. Need, I need one.

Happenings, Hot Sauce and Otherwise
Yep, so I'm a loser and I left you hanging on the HSOW last Friday. For that, I am sorry. That being said, I was on vacation with the wife in Mexico so I didn't lose too much sleep about it...
As a result of that trip I now have no less that 6 imported sauces to add to the hopper. There were plenty to choose from and I hope that did a good job of selecting some solid local flavor and not just some touristy garbage. That said, cold beer was $1 on the street and shots were $2.50 so who knows what I really got. We will return to your regularly scheduled HSOW programming next Friday.
In other news, my homie Nick needs some parts to get his '67 Shovel back where it needs to be. If you have any of this stuff, holler at either of us.
1)James gasket set
2)rear brake shoes
3)rear brake springs
4)one 41mm tube and new seals
5)rear chain
6)clutch cable
7)shocks
8)shift arm

On the hunt...
My buddy is looking for a 140/90-16 tire. Used is ok as long as it has tread and is runnable.
Please give me a shout here if you have one you are looking to part with.

On the sauce...
Pepper Palace, PCB. I spent way too long and way too much money in this store. Excellent, friendly staff and a unbeatable selection. Sampled plenty of their offerings and got a few to try. If I lived closer, I'd be tempted to hit it weekly. Check them out here.

Doesn't Go
I've had a couple back and fourths lately on other blogs about Chevy Novas. I've owned four of them. They are pretty rad and a heap of fun to drive. I always wish I had another one but between all the other projects and already existing lack of money and time...well that's why I sold the most recent one last year.
My first car and first Nova: a '74 Spirit of America. A mechanic at the local Express Oil Change has this as his daily driver. He wasn't really looking to sell it but I needed a cheap car and my dad talked him out of it. We paid $1000.00. I don't think you could come close to a car like that now for that money. Dad and I drove this car all the time, including to Church on Sunday. There was a snotty over-privileged kid who lived in our neighborhood. He needed a ride home one day and talked the whole time about how much nicer his parents cars were. It made me love mine even more.
My second, a partially restored '73. This one came from a dealership owner who tinkered with it just for kicks. It was built, loud and fast and probably too much car for a crazy, speed loving teenager. This thing saw its share of action. I flew everywhere I went in it and on the interstate...forget it. One summer I drove it to camp. We did 120 or better most of the way only stopping for gas and the occasional overheating.
I let the power get the better of me. Doing 75 past a police station on a major suburban road with a 40 limit clearly posted is never smart. That being said, if a late-model Camaro challenges you while you have 3 hot-to-trot females riding with you...well you don't back down no matter how stupid it gets.
The most recent, my second '74. The owner was going blind and unable to work on his collection anymore. He was quite the builder and restorer in his day. He had a shiny rootbeer brown chromed out street rod in his garage that he was also selling. Cool guy, shame about his condition. This car ran pretty good when it ran but there had been too many folks under the hood and it had major issues and needed more work than I had time for. Add another kid into the mix and well...it just sat until I finally unloaded it. The kid who bought it was bright eyed and proud when he paid me the cash to own it. His dad was there with him. I think I put it in good hands.
The fourth Nova was a '79. This was after they switched to the boxier style and I was never a fan of that look. I got it because it was cheap and I never cared for it. It was a copper brown with ripped tan interior and nothing special.

Saw this in Show Class, looks like a smaller better made version of the Coleman Lantern I already have. A good basic light source when you want to wash an area, not just have a focused beam.

There are a couple options here, the Oregon Bedroll and the Don Wood bedroll. I am plenty happy with my sleeping bag but I have heard these things are beyond awesome and I would like to have the option. If you have either of these, let me know what you think.

The bastard offspring of a tarp and a space blanket, this thing does it all. Grommets to make a shelter or cover your bike, a hood and pockets to stay warm, etc etc. As cheap as they are, it is a wonder I haven't ordered one of these yet. See it and a bunch of other cool gear at polerstuff.com.
This is the last in my series of gear posts, I think I have about covered all of my stuff. If you find yourself hungry for more, dash over to Iron Vaquero, this month he is going to cover his road and camping gear.
Mailbag
Show Class #5. This one reeks of Birmingham: Moon's bike and Americana Speed Shop leather.

Like the one on the bike above, I am looking for one of these. If you have one you are looking to unload, or know someone who does, please give me a shout.
